Finding Peace

Every sunshine has it’s storm,
No sliver lining without cloud;
Light will flee and evening form,
Dark times wrap us in their shroud.

Finding peace a struggle surely,
For embattled hearts and minds
Find distress, and pain, and worry,
Calm moments rare and precious finds.

But joy comes without circumstance,
Hearts can be full in times of struggle;
When times are lacking song and dance,
Embrace the light amid the rubble.

Mighty hands will shelter you,
And without peace grant peace within;
Faithful Father’s mercy true
Gives joy for mourning, grace for sin.

Empty moments don’t decide
The inner working of the heart;
Finding God is finding peace,
Yes, peace within- His work of art.
