As I write this, I am in Houston, Texas helping my in-laws pack up and begin a new journey in Kansas. We are all excited about the move, but the physical act of moving is not a pleasant one. It involves emotional stress, physical pains, and cleaning all those nooks and crannies we thought l clean before we began.
We’ve all dreaded moving ourselves or a loved one because of the labor and discomfort involved. But when was the last time you made a spiritual move? You may be doing what God called you to do 1 year ago, 5 years ago, 10 years ago. And it’s good that you heard His voice. But are you still hearing?
“The only constant is change.” This is true of the Kingdom of God just as it is for the rest of life. God says “Behold, I am doing a new thing” (Isaiah 43:19). You walk with Him should never stagnate. I gaurantee this- He is calling you to something new.
But, if we continue to keep in step with the Spirit, we are promised this:”In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord , make me dwell in safety” (Psalms 4:8 ESV). Our spiritual landscape may be constantly changing, but as we follow Him, whether on the mountain or in the valley, we will dwell in safety.
